28.5 billion $ went unused.
This is just the real estate - not even counting other in-direct purchases, cars, furniture, other related services.
150 000 * 100 000 * (6%) = 900 000 000 : Assuming 100K is their annual salary, US lost earning 900 million $ in SS contributions.
May be we should show a factor to US Govt, each unused visa equals to XX unused economy dollars.
Homes purchases lost : 28 Billion
Social Security unearned: 900 Million

Despite the situation sounds illegal and I agree it is - I didn't wanted to make something illegal and was just waiting for my employer to fill the papers.
I am as well what they call a skilled worker, I basically get a o1 visa to work as manager for a big company and I don't give a fuck - but yeah I get another job offer and didn't waited to have the new visa to start. You know sometimes you can take bad decisions, people can tell you things which never happen, and that's unfortunately how life is.
Last week I get another job offer, it's real and not illegal - I worked a lot to get this offer and spent so much time working hard instead to have fun.
I am currently filling a new o1 with a lawyer and plan anyway to leave the US asap. Maybe I will never have this visa and will probably be bar for 3 years but I really need to try to make everything possible.
When I get the first job offer in the US - I was working as manager in Europe, and everything was pretty fine. I accepted this job, sold and gave all the stuff I owned to come here, in the United States, to work. Today I have no apartment or place to live in my country and I know as well that when you get a non immigrant visa you are supposed to can get back to your country easily but it's like hard to keep 2 rent and 2 places.
I will be very grateful if you can give me your point of view about my case and share your experiences.

Last 2 years of college I was working full time in my field and going to school full time.
How did you work full time during college for 2 years? Unless you had an off-campus work permit I wouldn't even tell Immigration about that 'experience'.
And AFAIK you have to earn the bachelor's first and then count the years of experience.

I have GC for about a month now. I plan on taking up Corp-to-Corp, Independent, 1099 and W2 contracts. For corp-to-corp contracts I would like to incorporate a company if I can save on taxes over the 1099 contracts. I am also
in the process of engaging a CPA. Do you advise incorpating a LLC or S-Corp or a C-corp ?

LLC is the best way to go, just one drawback , per current market situation (financial situation), banks might be reluctant to provide a loan etc. but if you have a VC or capital, go for LLC. the best way to go.

The reason my h1b was denied because the consultant showed that I would be working for him instead of working for client. I suspect he didn't respond well for the RFE earlier in the case.
Is it possible to submit a motion for reconsideration by a new employer(when I find one in the next month or so)? To make things worse, I am having a hard time concentrating on possible upcoming interview because of my h1b visa denial. Pls tell me what options do I have if I am made an offer by a private(profit) employer. BTW my master is in comp. engg and I completed my masters in Dec 06.
Its really disheartening to wait one more year to start work along with my increasing debts. Its bad being job-searching-graduated-student in USA with this situation.

Mine was an e-filing. However my FP scheduling was quite weird.
I had my FP scheduled for 11/13
but my Card Production was Ordered on 11/12
I still went ahead and gave my FP on 11/13.

The situation seems pretty grim...there are about 80 k indian students
coming to the US every year in total about 250-350 k including all international students (I assume) and at least 50% of them want to work after graduation (I assume)..with the h1 cap at 65K(lot of them taken away by consultants) ...and the lots of school funding squeezed because of the war..Most students (I assume) study with no AID hoping to get a job to repay some of the loan/ father's money...
I think prospective students need to know the real situation out here..before
they make a choice of studying here.
I hope this grim situation is temporary... It seems you want awake everyone about coming to USA for Studies..Good View but dont try to blame on others for what is happening.. We are in line in a BROKEN System..
