You must ask the badge number and note down the time of each call. Then file a complaint if you are not satisfied with the customer service experience.
Once we have a proof of hundreds of such written complaints, IV can also follow up. We need people to file 'written' complaints in order to help improve the service.
I do not have any ID (She spoke that too quickly) but I know the time (8 am cst) and I am prepared to give the written complaint.

Maybe some of us might be aware on the importance of umbilical chord and cord blood. They are life savers as they contain stem cells which can be used to treat hematopoietic and genetic disorders.
Let me tie this to an important activity that happens in southern part of india (maybe its prevalent too in entire india - not sure though).
Whenever a baby is born, the umbilical chord is cut and a clip is put up in the baby's navel end with the umbilical chord part extending out. In a matter of few days the external portion will heal and fall off.
This is then taken to a goldsmith who in turn stuffs this into a small golden (or silver depending upon one's capacity) and seals them air tight (mind this air tight) using fire. this is then tied along with a thread and is generally worn around the hips of babies.
Maybe our ancestors knew that this part of tissue might help in healing some disorders for the babies. Who knows better than them. Many of us indians would have worn this without much aware of its importance.

they responded today to USCIS, nothing much here I guess...
one of the forms had my birth date wrong, so USCIS was asking for the actual birth date.
Strange...my 140 was filed on Nov 2006....and then got a REF on August 29th 2007, my pawyer responsed last week...and I thought that as soon as USCIS gets the evidence they will hopefully approve my case....(the evidence was a minor (atleast I thought it was minor) issue about birth date...
and now USCIS has revieved the evidence they asked for...guess what they say...

But when someone created a thread for this - let me share "one dress" people shouldn't wear.- this is something you would want to avoid, this was told to me 9yrs back when i first came to this country and appeared for Interview first time.
That dress is - "Red Shirt"

To be safe, do it even if you get an attached I-94 as you began working. You never know what sort of a minor infraction can lead to a huge trouble later on. Good luck!

I have a priority date of March 2004 (EB2 India) and I am still waiting for my Green Card. I think majority of the 2004 filers are in the same boat except for a lucky few who were able to get the green card after the July fiasco.
So don't buildup your hopes too high. I firmly beleive that very soon there will be a repeat of what we saw last year in July and the green cards will be distributed once again out of order.
So if you are one of those luck ones, you might get it.

Yes forwarded the copy to the lawyer this morning.I have an appointment with lawyer Friday morning regarding this..So for lawyer office didn't received anything from uscis.
Here is my backround
1)Worked for Company A from 2003 to 2008.
2)Company A applied I-140 and approved April 2006. AOS 485 filed on July 2007. Got EAD but never used it
3)September 2008 I have Joined employer “B” by transferring H1B (Valid until Aug 21st 2010).
4)Employer A revoked 140 which triggered 485 denials in October 2008.
5)Applied MTR and it was approved in NOVEMBER 2008 and 485 re-opened.
This is the only major concern I have.Though I have approved MTR and 485 re-opened, but my online status of 485 still showing denied.
My AP approved last month.......my wife EAD,AP approved last month.I am the primary..strange
I know I have moderate control over this situation.Just having good faith & hope.This whole thing H1-B,DL,GC,EAD,AP & visa stamping ..etc what a pain for some people.Very sad.For uscis error(485 denial wrongly) I am not only lost money( closee to 5k) also lost "n" no of days of sleep back in 2008 and now :mad:

My PD is current, and also my processing date is outside the processing times currenlty published by NSC and I140 is approved. Not sure why AOS is still pending. Any thoughts? What I should do to expedite this. Thanks.

Also, one should know we are not getting help from our group, I know many guys who are effected by GCs in my office in my neighbourhood, I can't even get them to make one call to senator office,
how do you expect some other organization to help us, when we can't help ourselves
People make fun of me and call me "Immigration specialist" when I take up this issue with them. No one understands the complexity of the situation and no one wants to talk about it. But I am sure many actually monitor these sites for some news they want to hear and pretend to be silent.
No one wants to contribute for a good cause but want to reap benefits when others work hard for it

I was in this situation few years back. I was on bench for 8 months (not paid). I chose not to reply to the DOL letter. I feared that accepting that I was on bench for 8 months will make you out of status.
Every time you go for H1 revalidation, you will be asked were you out of status any time.
Later I have done 3 H1 revalidations (Canada), no problems. If sending reply is not mandatory then keep quiet. Six months later my employer filed for bankruptcy.
Not getting paid on bench for >180 days has serious consequences during the adjudication of I-485. Read the following thread
