I do see in sec 203 how some one becomes eligible for "eb quota". I dont see ebdependents there. I see only eb primary.

Whatever bluesky1 said is true...finally they opened our box. Today I called and rep gave me only I-485 receipt number and told me to wait for mail. USCIS likes everyone to wait for every thing......I have no more information but as soon as I get mail I will post all the info.
3rd july people should call now and I am definite we all were sitting in same box.
What a painful 100 days it was..................hopefully everything is correct on receipt...wait again and see.....

So it seems that our box is not lost and they're processing them, though so slowly. My application arrived on 7/3 at NSC, received by R. William at 9:03am.
Hope every one of us will receive our receipts, EAD and AP asap.

All we are asking is to support some kind of action against the USCIS...
we just need to mobilize ourselves... this is not a fight for EB-2 or EB-3... but for the whole legal immigration system... let's just do something
we are looking at specific situations where the legal immigrant community was affected... and right now its the non sequential processing of the applications for EB-2...
for EB-3 we will need to make similar points which we can raise with Ombudsman or some other authority... we just need to find instances where people were affected... for example delays in EAD.. and that is for EB-2 and EB-3

I was looking at the comments of one "sodepressed" in the Ron gothcer's forum..I am feeling really bad for this guy..I dont know what logic USCIS follows..but I assure you EB-3 I will fight for fair share and get it..with in 140 K numbers or thro Visa recapture #'s..first is to highlight our problems..so lets do it in creative ways...

EB2 I's immediately respond with a self protectionist attitude and preach a higher calling that focuses on comprehensive solutions instead of piecemeal solutions. EB1 I's obviously choose to remain outside the fray, since these are matter of concern to vox populi, not them.
Some EB2's and EB3's then analyse the hell out of USCIS logic, to the extent that they could become full time spin meisters for ANY public organization. With very little fact, a healthy dose of opinion and a mish mash of 'logic', they piece together their 'strong' arguments -one way or the other.
Lost in this useless din of irrelevant analysis paralysis is the real misery of thousands of EB3 I's (such as myself) that have been stuck for years for no fault of ours. By the way, I happen to be a highly educated (for those that care) Executive that went to Top Private Universities in the US that happens to be stuck in EB3 ONLY because the company HR rep and lawyer at the time, chose to go down this path. POint being, there is no reason for EB2 I's to pontificate from a sense of elitist protectionism because there are EB3 I's like me that can outsmart a bunch of you in no time. Seriously. (This is for those that preach that if you are 'smart' you should be in EB2. Go read those threads).
So bottomline, let us stop behaving like CIS vs Anti CIS camps and instead UNITE towards the common cause. Let EB3I's air their frustrations. If you can come to help, do so. If not, stay out of it completely. No more half ass 'logic', please.

another story:
i have a close friend who has been here since 1991 with no GC. he came for his undergraduate studies in 1991..finished that...got a good job...met a girl...got married...girl was also an undergrad here then went to grad school...then lost his job..girl was still in school...lost almost everything
then he built his life back..got a job....started working his way up...girl graduated..worked in a small company and then changed jobs..started gc process for the 3rd time...luckily got ead and ap....girl changed jobs...bought a house...retrogression happened....and hes still waiting
can u beat that...hes been here for 16 years.
putting off decisions is very easy when it comes to gc...many times u just need to bite the bullet and live ur life. dont get me wrong.. i have put off getting my h1b stamped for over 3 yrs...havent been out of the country for 5 yrs...now i have decided its not worth it and will do it sometime this yr.
like russell peter's chinese person says "be a man...do the right thing"

I did not want to respond you but here's what can be achieved by lifting the country caps even for 2 years. If you lift the country cap, oldest PDs get the green Cards irrespective of their country, considering it's Indians & Chinese who are stuck the most, believe it or not, India will get all of 140K Visas, you can easily expect India and china to come at par with ROW, I know with your intelligence level, it is hard for you to understand, but if you are in a line, you are always going to get benefited if more people before you get eliminated fom the queue...

Did any one discussed this with an attorney. May be a conference call with Mr. Rajiv Khanna ? Can anyone from IV core member respond what is their take on such a class action. Will we have the support from IV if such lawsuit is filled.

It takes 90 days MINIMUM to get EAD? I've heard that it takes at most 90 days to get EAD. Does anyone know?
used to be at most 90 days. If not u could have gone to ur local office and get temp EAD. It changed no more temp EAD. You r at the mercy of USCIS.

Well, it goes beyond that. This is a "complicated story with no sub titles".
IV website is a board where people of all kinds visit and there is no control over stuff. Just go to any blog site - we see 100 rants and crazy comments as against a few wise talk.
I guess we have to live with it and keep pushing people. Sometimes loud and sometimes gently.
My friend, it is to "push the people" that I am saying all this. How best can we push? Through word of mouth, or thru full campaign?

In the home page, we promote only those discussions that are important to all, like advocacy.
In next tab, we take on the discussions that are based on individual problems
And all else, can go to the third tab
Also on home page, the following items (just some examples of general interest matter):
- Advocacy day. Donations received vs required.
- Big red button: Donate
- Some links to recent news items on immigration
Home page should have text content that introduces IV, its activities, and a small lecture on why skilled immigration is important

I just checked with the city, and San Jose police dept. they don't know about this event and haven't issued any permit for it. Fightnow, since you originated this thread, please post relevant info. as to who is organizing it.

The Police dept. said that as long as the traffic and pedestrian sidewalk are not blocked and there is no violence it is ok with them. Now only if I know who will issue the permit, that should do it.

My reaction would have been the same if you were in Eb1 category. The fact is that I am trying to mobilize some people to get few things done. Of course, motivated by my self interest.
I was against SunnySurya's porting agenda and still am. But the current issue he is taking up is a genuine one. There should be a reasonable processing expectation that the earlier the PD the sooner the GC,with all other things (like category)being equal.
However eb3_nepa has a valid point too that you can't expect to utilize core's time/energy.
In my opinion, SunnySurya is going in right direction championing this cause.
